Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roon Vander Esch (ranked 4025 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivo Vardi (ranked 4469 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Roon Vander Esch has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Roon Vander Esch seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vardi connects with a nice looking jab.
Vardi tries to clinch but Vander Esch is having none of it.
Vander Esch tries to counter with a takedown but Vardi is quick to defend against it.
Vardi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Vardi fails to land the takedown.
Vander Esch has been working on his balance at Iron Man (Fitness & Sparring), so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Vardi.
Vander Esch misses with a two punch combination.
Vander Esch looks to land a right hand but Vardi moved out of range.
Vander Esch looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Vardi!
Vander Esch tries for a kimura but Vardi is defending well.
Vander Esch has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Vardi!
Vander Esch misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Vander Esch wants to control the pace but Vardi is squirming around nicely.
Vardi slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Vander Esch wants to take a breather but Vardi is having none of it.

Vardi is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Vander Esch has latched onto it... Big trouble! Vander Esch pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Vardi is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Vander Esch!
