Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roberto Sumerio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Magnus Repstien!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Repstien shoots for a double leg takedown but Sumerio sprawls well. He's pushed Repstien's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sumerio fails with the takedown

and Repstien holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Repstien escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Repstien shoots and misses
and Sumerio counters with a nice body shot.
Sumerio leaves Repstien with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Roberto Sumerio has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Magnus Repstien.

Repstien shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Repstien showed some decent athleticism there.
Sumerio wants to stand back up but Repstien manages to pass into side control.

Repstien tries for a kimura but Sumerio is defending well.
Sumerio is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Repstien looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Sumerio tries to buck Repstien off but Repstien is having none of it.

Repstien decides to stand back up. Repstien steps back and let's Sumerio get back to his feet.
Sumerio shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Repstien but Repstien pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A solid leg kick lands there for Repstien.
Repstien lands a head shot.
Repstien throws a head kick that Sumerio semi-blocks.

Repstien closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sumerio bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Magnus Repstien seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Repstien scores with a head kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Repstien cracks Sumerio with a good jab.
Repstien connects with a combination that backs up Sumerio into the cage. Repstien lands a flurry of punches that gets past Sumerio's guard. Sumerio is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Repstien bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Magnus Repstien!
