9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Manolito Tai Kung! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Samuel Rodrigues! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tai Kung pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rodrigues closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Rodrigues fails to pull the fight into his guard.
A shot in the inside from Tai Kung. Rodrigues ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rodrigues no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Rodrigues has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tai Kung can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Tai Kung is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Rodrigues looking for subs off his back but Tai Kung has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rodrigues wants to get back to full guard. Tai Kung knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rodrigues on the ground. Rodrigues is not content to let Tai Kung control the position. That's three minutes gone in the round. Tai Kung is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Tai Kung passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Rodrigues! Rodrigues slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Tai Kung sitting and controlling from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rodrigues is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Tai Kung is tapping! Great win for Rodrigues!

A very excited looking Samuel Rodrigues rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
