The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Edwards misses its intended target.
Edwards will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Edwards darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Edwards is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rawlins sees it coming and defends easily.
Rawlins moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Rawlins has a closed guard, preventing Edwards from standing up.

Rawlins looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Edwards trying to control the position from guard on top but Rawlins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Rawlins utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Edwards wants to stand but Rawlins is controlling his posture from full guard.

Rawlins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Rawlins lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Edwards!
Edwards keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Edwards has given up his back here.
Edwards prevents Rawlins from getting a body triangle.
Edwards knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rawlins on the ground.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Edwards is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Rawlins trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Edwards doesn't escape.

Rawlins is trying to stick to Edwards's back but Edwards is turning into Rawlins. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rawlins's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Edwards.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Edwards won't allow Rawlins to get back to his feet.

Edwards drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rawlins dives on top into guard.
Edwards is breathing heavily.
Rawlins passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Rawlins wants to control but Edwards is keeping him busy.
Rawlins tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Rawlins looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jenson Rawlins dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Edwards scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Edwards closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rawlins keeps control of Edwards as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Rawlins wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Edwards breaks from the clinch.
Edwards throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Rawlins looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Edwards is in trouble now - Rawlins has advanced to mount!
Edwards tries to improve his position but instead Rawlins has taken his back!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Edwards wants to control his opponent's hands but Rawlins gets his hands free.
Edwards might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Edwards can't escape the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rawlins looking for the RNC.
Edwards trying to control the action but Rawlins just sinks the hooks in.

Rawlins working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Edwards is doing well to defend. Rawlins seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Edwards is forced to tap and this one is over!
