Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Stantler (ranked 7132 p4p, 539 weight class) and Will Jankins (ranked 24835 p4p, 592 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominic Stantler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Will Jankins!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stantler throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jankins dives in and grabs Stantler's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stantler pushes down on Jankins's head and hops out.
Jankins shoots in looking for a takedown but Stantler manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jankins's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jankins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stantler but Stantler pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dominic Stantler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Jankins.
Jankins throws a head kick that misses
and Stantler counters with a good low kick that Jankins was not able to check.
Jankins throws a combination that misses
letting Stantler counter with a right hand.
Jankins scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jankins tries for a takedown but Stantler sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jankins tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stantler swivels and escapes.
Jankins doesn't manage to clinch there - Stantler circles away.
Good leg kick by Stantler there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

A little feinted left hand from Stantler on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Jankins shoots in for a double leg but Stantler sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Stantler looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Stantler stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stantler wants it to stay on the feet.
Stantler lands with a hook. Jankins tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Stantler uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jankins has time to react.
Stantler throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Will Jankins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stantler scoring well with a low kick there.
Jankins avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stantler looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sloppy strikes from Stantler. Those never looked like landing.
Jankins circles away from the clinch attempt.

Stantler has Jankins up against the cage in a clinch.

Stantler breaks the clinch.
Stantler fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Jankins fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
It looked like Stantler was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Jankins fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Stantler connects with an inside leg kick.
Jankins has a takedown stuffed.
Jankins slips under a jab from Stantler.
Stantler has his takedown stuffed

and Jankins counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jankins.

Stantler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Stantler has closed the distance and engaged Jankins in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jankins fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Stantler dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Jankins tries to pull guard but Stantler forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Jankins tries to pull guard but Stantler won't allow it.
Jankins is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Stantler to keep the fight standing.
Stantler is trying to break the clinch but Jankins is controlling him.

Stantler escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stantler throws a right hand that Jankins ducks under and follows up with a left that Jankins also avoids with ease.
Stantler throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Horrible takedown attempt by Jankins or perhaps it was just good defense by Stantler, which made it look bad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dominic Stantler dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jankins takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Stantler has managed to clinch.

The fight stays on the outside here - Jankins looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
It looked like Stantler wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Jankins tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Stantler connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Jankins lands with a nice combination. Stantler backs away looking to recover.
Jankins wants to land a leg kick but Stantler is out of range.
Jankins misses with an uppercut.
Jankins shoots in but no luck this time.

Jankins shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stantler defends it nicely.
Stantler misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dominic Stantler is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stantler connects with a solid leg kick.
Jankins throws a head kick but Stantler moves out of range.
As Jankins looks to move away, Stantler throws a big counter combo but Jankins just gets out of the way.
Jankins throws a right and a left that Stantler avoids nicely.
Jankins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stantler tries to avoid it but Jankins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stantler to the ground. Stantler escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dominic Stantler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Jankins.
Jankins is breathing heavily.
Jankins throws a wild hook but Stantler just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Jankins gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Stantler raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dominic Stantler!
