The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schubert fakes high and swings low for a body shot but James manages to avoid it.
James tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Schubert swivels and escapes.
Schubert scores with a jab to the body.
James shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
James has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
James fails with the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schubert throws a jab when James was well out of range.
Schubert throws a body shot but no joy.
Schubert uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before James has time to react.
James shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Schubert sprawls well. Schubert wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. James gets slowly back to his feet.

Schubert gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Schubert lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
A head punch on the inside from Schubert fails to land.
James has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Schubert is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Schubert tries to work over James's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Schubert struggles to land a body shot inside as James controls his hands.
Schubert lands a nice uppercut.
It looks like Tyson James has been cut.
James tries to pull guard but Schubert holds him up against the cage and eventually James drops back down to his feet.
Schubert lands a hook to the side of the head.
James is breathing heavily.
Schubert makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Schubert lands a body shot in the clinch.

Schubert misses with a hook to the ribs.

Schubert digs a right hand into James's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on James's gas tank.

Schubert throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Schubert lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down James.

Schubert creates a bit of distance and unloads a huge uppercut that knocks James out cold! The ref dives in to break up the two fighters! The fight is over!

After winning the bout, Thomas Schubert thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
In defeat, Tyson James stepped up to the mic, saying 'When I am defeated, I stay humble. I was defeated by the better man today. I wish Fray the best in his future title defenses. I will return to the top and get that belt! '.
