PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dieter Schmidt (ranked 1059 p4p, 125 weight class) and Demetrius Tektas (ranked 1117 p4p, 134 weight class). Tektas is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Alexander The Great. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Schmidt misses with a low kick as Tektas jumps back.
Tektas misses the shot to the body.
Schmidt tried to score with a low kick but Tektas checks it.
Schmidt throws a leg kick that is checked

and Tektas counters with a takedown into side control.
Schmidt tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Tektas presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tektas putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Schmidt is trying to reverse the position but instead Tektas has taken his back - oops!
Tektas connects with a big shot to the side of Schmidt's head.

Tektas has the hooks in. Schmidt is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

I would not like to be Schmidt right now.

Tektas is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Schmidt has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Tektas has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Schmidt taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Tektas doesn't care though - he's delighted!
