Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Malachi Lawrence (ranked 3470 p4p, 424 weight class) and Skjoldr Leifsson (ranked 1213 p4p, 176 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Malachi Lawrence has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Malachi Lawrence seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Malachi Lawrence!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Skjoldr Leifsson!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawrence throws a series of punches but Leifsson moves out of range.
Leifsson slips a straight right by Lawrence.
Leifsson works Lawrence's body with a nice hook.
Lawrence throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Leifsson throws out a counter right but Lawrence avoids it with no problem.
Lawrence misses with a takedown attempt
and Leifsson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Lawrence lands a nice shot that snaps Leifsson's head back.
Leifsson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lawrence has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Some wild striking there from Leifsson.
Skjoldr Leifsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Leifsson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lawrence to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Lawrence landing some decent shots from guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lawrence pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Leifsson is keeping the position for now.

Leifsson is pulling down on Lawrence's head to control his posture.
Lawrence got a little sloppy there for a moment and Leifsson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lawrence has managed to get both his arms back between Leifsson's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leifsson working for a triangle but Lawrence defends it easily.
Leifsson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Leifsson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lawrence.
Lawrence stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Leifsson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Leifsson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lawrence gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Leifsson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Lawrence is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Leifsson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Leifsson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Lawrence escapes and throws Leifsson's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Leifsson has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Leifsson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lawrence sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Leifsson defending well though.
Lawrence wants to work for an arm triangle but Leifsson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Leifsson trying to control but Lawrence postures up.
Leifsson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lawrence's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lawrence's back!
Lawrence staying busy and making it hard for Leifsson to control.
Lawrence tries to break free.
Leifsson tries to get the hooks in deep but Lawrence pushed the leg off.
Leifsson just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Leifsson has his arm under Lawrence's chin here. Game over son! Leifsson squeezes tightly and Lawrence is forced to tap out!

Skjoldr Leifsson tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
