Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Masa Funaki (ranked 2923 p4p, 313 weight class) and Kree P Krawlee (ranked 2922 p4p, 312 weight class). Krawlee comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sail kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Kree P Krawlee enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Masa Funaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kree P Krawlee!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Funaki 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Funaki looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Krawlee scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Krawlee is looking to advance position but Funaki won't allow it.

Krawlee tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Krawlee has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Krawlee thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
My spies in Rickys House inform me that Krawlee has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Funaki is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Funaki controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Funaki's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Krawlee is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Funaki to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Funaki shrugs it off.

Krawlee feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kree P Krawlee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Krawlee has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
