Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jewel Diaz (ranked 648 p4p, 80 weight class) and Pinero Chai (ranked 1463 p4p, 174 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by Fuego (La Romana). The crowd seem to be enjoying Chai's choice of entrance music: Styles P - Off The Ghost. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jewel Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Pinero Chai! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Diaz looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Chai throws a sloppy head kick and Diaz moves out of range easily. Diaz fails to land with a series of punches.
Diaz takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Diaz throws a hook but Chai avoids it easily. Diaz throws the kick towards the body but Chai avoids it. Chai throws a nice inside leg kick. Chai lands with a hook. Diaz tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Chai cracks Diaz with a right hand to the side of the head. Diaz shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Diaz is looking to clinch. A looping hook to the body misses from Chai. Diaz does a little dance to reset his feet. Chai ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Chai! But no joy. Chai throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Chai scores with a nice head shot. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Diaz misses with a two punch combination.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Diaz not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Diaz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nice strikes from Diaz there. Chai is staying active underneath Diaz, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Diaz landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Diaz trying to mount his opponent but Chai defends it.

Chai is concentrating on defense, preventing Diaz from advancing position. Diaz uses his free foot to push down on Chai's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Chai. Chai tries to lock up and control but Diaz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Diaz punishing his opponent with strikes. Diaz with good strikes from the mount here! Diaz throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chai holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Diaz tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Diaz breaks from Chai's wrist control and lands an elbow. Diaz raining down hammerfists from mount. Chai wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Diaz.
Diaz postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Chai looks a forlorn figure.
Diaz lands a big shot there that rocks Chai but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz thowing shots but they're missing. Diaz scoring with strikes but Chai is staying in there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Diaz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chai is looking to escape. Chai wants to hold on but Diaz pushes him away. Diaz trying to control but Chai is having none of it. Chai wants to control but Diaz is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diaz seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Diaz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chai. Diaz pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Chai throws a solid leg kick but Diaz takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Chai. Chai throws a looping overhand right but Diaz ducks down to avoid it. Diaz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chai can do to turn this around? Diaz scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Chai misses with a hook. Diaz ducked under it nicely. Diaz attempts a counter takedown but Chai avoids it well and moves away. Chai misses with a low kick as Diaz jumps back. Diaz takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Chai can pounce on him.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chai lands a jab to Diaz's midsection. Chai lands with an uppercut that bounces Diaz off the cage and back into range. Chai misses with a straight right.

Nope, Chai circles away and we're back to standing. Diaz bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Chai swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Diaz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Chai. Diaz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Diaz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chai sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Diaz somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jewel Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Diaz throws a hook to the side of Chai's head but Chai sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Diaz takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Chai scores with a nice strike. Diaz swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Chai smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Chai throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Diaz throws a hook to the side of Chai's head but Chai sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Chai tries to sprawl but Diaz drives through with a takedown into half guard. Chai kicks off Diaz and gets to his feet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pinero Chai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Diaz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Diaz lands in his opponent's guard. Diaz wants to control from the top but Chai keeps moving. Diaz throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Chai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Diaz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Chai preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Diaz throwing strikes but missing. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Diaz's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Diaz advances to half guard. Chai trying to hold on to Diaz's head to control him but Diaz postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pinero Chai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Diaz pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Chai back to the cage. Diaz follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Diaz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chai circles away. A combination from Chai does no damage. Diaz avoids the head kick by Chai.
Good leg kick by Chai there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Diaz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Diaz's corner is telling him to maintain position. Diaz trying to control but Chai is working from the bottom. Diaz passes Chai's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Diaz winds up and cracks Chai with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Chai avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Diaz. That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Diaz landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Diaz stalling away here and it's allowed Chai to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Diaz trying to control but Chai is working from the bottom. Diaz distracts Chai with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chai keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully. Chai pulls Diaz in close to prevent any damage. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Diaz wants to control from the top but Chai keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Diaz shoots in for a takedown but Chai shows good takedown defense. Diaz fails to land with a series of punches.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jewel Diaz. I think Diaz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
