Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ephram Urani (ranked 620 p4p, 77 weight class) and Philip Ziskie (ranked 998 p4p, 113 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ephram Urani! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Philip Ziskie! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ziskie shoots in looking for a takedown but Urani manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ziskie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Urani with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ziskie to score with a decent uppercut. Nice body punch from Ziskie. Urani moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Ziskie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Urani circles away. Urani swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Urani has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Crassus in the buildup to the fight. Ziskie clobbers Urani with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Ziskie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Urani paws at him with a jab and circles away. Ziskie moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
It looks like Philip Ziskie has been cut. Ziskie throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Urani on the side of the head. Ziskie connects with a looping right hand.
Ziskie bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Urani's head backwards. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Urani feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ziskie sprawling to the canvas! Ziskie rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Urani finish him?!
Ziskie is rocked! Ziskie moves in looking to clinch but Urani pushes him off. Ziskie is still on wobbly legs! Can Urani finish him? Ziskie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Urani was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Ephram Urani has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Philip Ziskie. Ziskie pulls out of a head kick attempt.
An attempted straight right counter from Urani misses the target. Ziskie seems to have recovered his senses. Ziskie keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Philip Ziskie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick misses from Ziskie. Ziskie scores with a jab to the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Urani lands a nice shot to the body.
Ziskie fails in his attempt to clinch. Ziskie ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Urani ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ziskie moves away. Ziskie misses with a lunging right hand
and Urani counters with a lovely straight right hand! Ziskie lands a nice shot that snaps Urani's head back.
Ziskie tries a low kick but Urani avoids it. Urani moves out of range of the strikes. A little feinted left hand from Urani on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Urani uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ziskie. Urani takes one to the chin there. Ephram Urani is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Urani fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ziskie manages to avoid it. Urani misses with a body shot.
Ziskie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ziskie thows a left - swing and a miss! Urani tries to counter by clinching up but Ziskie breaks away and moves out of range. Ziskie catches Urani with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Urani uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ziskie. Urani blocks a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ziskie lands with a nice body punch. Ziskie is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ziskie connects with a solid leg kick. Ziskie has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Urani takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Urani looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ziskie lands a jab to Urani's midsection. Ziskie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Urani swivels and escapes. Ziskie shoots in but Urani avoids the takedown attempt easily. Urani was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Urani moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Urani avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Ziskie avoids the body shot from Urani.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ziskie lands an overhand right. The fighters circling - Ziskie throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Urani takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Ziskie throws a lazy head kick and Urani counters by moving into the clinch. Urani scores with a shoulder strike. A head punch blocked on the inside by Ziskie. Ziskie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Urani walks away with a smile on his face. Ziskie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Sloppy strikes from Ziskie. Those never looked like landing. It looked like Urani wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Ziskie slips under a jab. Ziskie connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Urani throws a body shot but no joy. Urani misses the shot to the body. Ziskie darts in looking for a takedown but Urani gets double underhooks and turns Ziskie into the cage. Ziskie wants to clinch up but Urani keeps it at a distance. Urani lands a front kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ziskie fails with a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Urani tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ziskie was well out of range. Poor timing from Urani. Ziskie jabs Urani right on the nose. Urani blinks but takes it well. Ziskie throws a sloppy head kick and Urani moves out of range easily. Ziskie throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Ziskie is looking to clinch. Ziskie throws a hook to the side of Urani's head but Urani sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Ziskie misses with a hook. Urani is looking to wear down Ziskie with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Ziskie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Urani ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ziskie moves away. Ziskie closes the distance looking to clinch letting Urani counter with a right hand. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ziskie connects with a good right hand that stumbles Urani. Urani circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Urani throws a head kick but Ziskie moves out of range.
And Ziskie tries to counter it with a takedown but Urani pushes his down on his head and steps out. Ziskie lands with a straight right. Urani didn't see that one coming. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Philip Ziskie dominated that round. The cut man is working on Philip Ziskie's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Ziskie misses with a left hand and Urani holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Urani trying to control the position but instead, Ziskie has worked for underhooks and has pushed Urani into the cage. Ziskie tries for a takedown. No joy.
Ziskie drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Urani gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Ziskie is trying to pull guard but Urani turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Ephram Urani has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Philip Ziskie. Urani is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Urani prevents the takedown attempt.
Ziskie is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Urani is defending well. Ziskie has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Urani clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Ziskie controlling well, preventing Urani from escaping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Urani trying to control but not successfully.

Urani breaks Ziskie's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Ziskie keeping moving, preventing Urani from controlling successfully. Urani got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ziskie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Urani has managed to get both his arms back between Ziskie's legs - danger averted. Ziskie has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Urani is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ziskie. Urani is trying to get an arm triangle but Ziskie is defending well. Urani thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Urani tries for a kimura but Ziskie is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ziskie is positioning himself to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Ziskie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Urani is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ziskie knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Urani is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ziskie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Urani swings around for an armbar but Ziskie sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Urani's guard. Ziskie passes into half guard. Ziskie is looking for a kimura but Urani is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ziskie to get the leverage. Urani looking for submissions off his back. Ziskie is trying to work for a kimura but Urani is defending well.
Ziskie is trying to control the action in half guard but Urani is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Urani is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Ziskie jumps into side control! Urani wants to control but Ziskie postures up. Urani manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Ziskie actively working from the bottom here. Ziskie is trying to get back to full guard. Urani is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Urani swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ziskie is now in Urani's guard. A big mistake from Urani there, giving up the dominant position! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Urani has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ziskie is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Urani. A close second round but Philip Ziskie will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Philip Ziskie's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Urani closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ziskie is trying to trip Urani. He has hold of a leg but Urani is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Ziskie persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Urani has his foot on Ziskie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ziskie works his way back into a safe position though. Urani bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ziskie's guard. Urani sitting in guard, not really doing much. Urani stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ziskie swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ziskie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Urani can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ziskie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Urani defends it easily.

Urani doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Urani manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ziskie is on top in guard.
Ziskie advances position into side control! Urani tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Ziskie presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Ephram Urani has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ziskie is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Urani can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The referee warns Urani that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Ziskie looking to isolate an arm here. Urani doesn't see it coming and as Ziskie extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Ziskie!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Philip Ziskie! After winning the bout, Philip Ziskie thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
