Jackson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ladies & Gentlemen. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson dodges the punch combination from Pawlik.
Jackson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pawlik.
Pawlik swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jackson thinks about countering with a head kick.

Jackson stuffs the takedown.

Pawlik is looking to work his way around to Jackson's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Pawlik wants to control the pace but Jackson is squirming around nicely.

Pawlik goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jackson is on top in guard.
Pawlik lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Jackson is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Death Valley Training Facility that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Pawlik ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pawlik stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jackson slips under a jab from Pawlik.

Pawlik dives in and scores a takedown into Jackson's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pawlik tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard.
Pawlik works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Pawlik frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Pawlik throws a series of punches but Jackson moves out of range.
Pawlik throws a looping overhand right but Jackson ducks down to avoid it.
Pawlik scores with the left hand. Jackson knows he should have avoided that one.

Pawlik gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Jackson counters by clinching up.

Jackson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pawlik throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pawlik fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jackson on the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pawlik.
It looked like Jackson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Pawlik tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jackson was well out of range. Poor timing from Pawlik.
Jackson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Pawlik's head.
Jackson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Pawlik.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jackson throws a right and a left that Pawlik avoids nicely.
Pawlik has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Pawlik shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Jackson wants to stand up but Pawlik is controlling him.
Pawlik trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jackson wants to sweep here but Pawlik controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pawlik slips nicely into half guard.

Pawlik is trying to work for a kimura but Jackson is defending well.

Pawlik passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jackson!

Pawlik looking to control but Jackson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Pawlik is working for a guillotine from mount but Jackson frees his head quite easily.

Pawlik swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jackson is now in Pawlik's guard. A big mistake from Pawlik there, giving up the dominant position!
Jackson wants to get up but he can't break Pawlik's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Pawlik is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Pawlik looking for a triangle here. Jackson is fighting it but it looks tight! Pawlik pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Jackson is tapping out - this one is all over!
