PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danny Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rampage kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Danny Frost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quinton Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frost shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily.
Frost shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Frost avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jackson throws out a loose jab but Frost uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jackson looks to throw the jab but Frost is out of range.
Frost displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jackson throws out the jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frost shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Frost. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Frost slips under a jab.
Jackson drops Frost with a nice combination! Jackson dives into Frost's guard, looking to finish!


Frost is rocked!


It looks like Danny Frost has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson wants to stand but Frost is controlling his posture from full guard.
Oh Frost is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Jackson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Frost seems to have got his legs back now.
Frost trying to keep a closed guard but Jackson is proving a slippery customer.
Jackson is looking to stand up but Frost won't let him.

Frost looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jackson tries to stand but Frost is controlling from the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Frost looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Frost escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jackson wanted to stand there but Frost had control of the position.

Frost has an active guard here but Jackson has managed to pass into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Frost tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quinton Jackson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Danny Frost's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Jackson lands with a cross.
Frost shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jackson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Jackson connects with a single shot there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Frost shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side.
A slow jab from Jackson misses its intended target.
Frost uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jackson.
Frost fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Frost. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jackson misses with a straight left.
Crack! Jackson connects with the perfect overhand right and Frost falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Jackson!
