Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Alex Conors (ranked 6281 p4p, 515 weight class) and Isadore James (ranked 6833 p4p, 545 weight class). Conors comes to the ring accompanied by Cut the Cord- Shinedown. James is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Gangsta's Paradise - Coolio. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Conors! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Isadore James! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Joseph Jones and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James misses with a series of wild punches.
James throws a hook but Conors blocks it. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Conors avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Conors closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. James blocks a punch to the side of the head.

A shot in the inside from James. Conors comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Conors tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. James breaks from the clinch.
James swats away the attempt to clinch by Conors. Conors staying out of range there. Conors blocks a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. James keeps the fight on the outside. Conors displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as James throws out the jab. James swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. James pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Conors tries to clinch there but James circles away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Conors looks like he's thinking about clinching though. James throws a lazy right hand but Conors sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. James throws a hook but Conors blocks it. As James tries to get set, Conors tries to push him back and clinch up but James manages to avoid the attempt. James throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. James tries to bum rush Conors with a series of wild strikes but Conors uses good footwork to avoid the assault. James keeps the fight on the outside. Conors is looking to clinch but James is avoiding it.
It seemed like James was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Conors ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Conors steps to the side to avoid the strikes from James. James has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Conors is landing a low percentage of strikes. Conors fails in his attempt to clinch. A chopping leg kick lands by James. James misses with an uppercut. Conors saw that one coming. James lands a leg kick that knocks Conors off balance momentarily. James lands a nice shot that snaps Conors's head back.

James manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. James throws a right and a left that Conors avoids nicely. Isadore James dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Conors throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but James blocks it with crossed arms. I was talking to Conors's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

James keeps Conors at a distance using the push kick. James throws a lazy right hand but Conors sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. James throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Conors takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Conors takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Conors tries to close the distance and clinch up but James swats him away and circles back towards the center. James's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and James duly obliges. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A looping hook to the body misses from James. Conors does a little dance to reset his feet. James avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Conors onto his butt! Conors pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue. Conors moves in looking to clinch but James pushes him off. James appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Conors takes one to the chin there. Conors is looking to clinch but James is avoiding it.
James closes the distance and catches Conors with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Conors is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Conors is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Conors is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! James takes it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Isadore James! Isadore James is the new light heavyweight champion!
