PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Mordecai Dabingyaba (ranked 3450 p4p, 313 weight class) and Piger Whok (ranked 7700 p4p, 458 weight class). Dabingyaba comes to the ring accompanied by Welcome To The Jungle. Whok comes into a darkened arena with his song building. King of Kings - Motorhead kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Piger Whok!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whok with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Dabingyaba slips under a jab.
Whok lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Dabingyaba takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Dabingyaba lands a nice hook to Whok's body. Whok takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Dabingyaba digs a good body shot into Whok's ribs.
Dabingyaba throws a looping overhand right but Whok ducks down to avoid it.
Whok throws a body punch but Dabingyaba moves out of range.
Dabingyaba chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Whok can pounce on him.
Dabingyaba throws a body shot but no joy.
Whok now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Whok moves into range and clinches up with Dabingyaba.
Dabingyaba really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Whok keeps control of Dabingyaba as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Whok lands an elbow inside that Dabingyaba shrugs off.
Whok digs a right hand into Dabingyaba's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Dabingyaba's gas tank.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Whok creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Whok stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Whok lands an elbow inside that Dabingyaba shrugs off.
Whok is leaning against Dabingyaba and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Whok looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Whok creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Dabingyaba's defenses.
Dabingyaba pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Whok scores with a hook to the body.
Dabingyaba looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Whok comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
A nice left hand lands by Whok.

Dabingyaba tries to break free but Whok pushes him back against the ropes.

A frustrated look appears on Dabingyaba's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Whok has Dabingyaba pressed against the ropes, preventing Dabingyaba from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Dabingyaba stalling in the clinch but Whok improves position.

Whok lands an elbow that stopped Dabingyaba in his tracks for a moment.


Mordecai Dabingyaba's cut is getting worse.
Dabingyaba is looking to control Whok's arms but Whok gets an underhook and turns him. Now Dabingyaba has his back to the ropes.

Whok is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dabingyaba is defending well for now.

Oh Dabingyaba is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dabingyaba is breathing heavily.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mordecai Dabingyaba's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Whok has control of Dabingyaba and unloads with a rapid fire barage of elbows, sending Dabingyaba crashing to the mat! Dabingyaba looks in big trouble - I don't think he's going to beat the count! He hasn't! The referee has reached 10 and this fight is all over! Whok looks delighted, as well he should.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Elbows). Piger Whok!
A relieved looking Piger Whok thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
