Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Machado (ranked 5657 p4p, 483 weight class) and Taka Cruise (ranked 3291 p4p, 365 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Machado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Taka Cruise! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruise stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cruise wants it to stay on the feet. Cruise connects with a jab. Cruise pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Cruise circles away from the clinch attempt.
Machado slips a jab from Cruise. A little feinted left hand from Machado on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Machado misses with a takedown attempt and Cruise counters with a right hand to the body. Cruise misses with a two punch combination.

Cruise fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Machado definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cruise scores with a nice head shot. Excellent takedown into side control there by Machado. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cruise pushes Machado away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Machado gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Machado will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruise is not content to let Machado control the position. Machado is really struggling to control Cruise but he's trying to hold on to the position. Machado decides to take the fight back to the feet. Machado looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cruise is fending him off so far but Machado persists. Nope, Cruise circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Machado. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice shot lands for Cruise.
Machado is rocked! Cruise throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Oh Machado is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Machado is breathing heavily. Cruise looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
OH! Machado has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Cruise smells blood and charges in for the finish! Cruise unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Machado sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Taka Cruise!
