Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Florentine Amuneke (ranked 4148 p4p, 0 weight class) and Najmeddine Mohammed Al Haddad (ranked 4464 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Florentine Amuneke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Najmeddine Mohammed Al Haddad! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amuneke chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Al Haddad can pounce on him.

Al Haddad moves into the clinch. Amuneke manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Amuneke keeping moving, preventing Al Haddad from controlling successfully. Al Haddad tries to stand but Amuneke is controlling from the bottom. Al Haddad content to stall in guard here. Al Haddad trying to control but Amuneke is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Amuneke utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Al Haddad shoots for a double leg takedown but Amuneke sprawls well. He's pushed Al Haddad's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Al Haddad shoots in and drives through. Amuneke sprawls well. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Amuneke. Al Haddad gets off balance looking for a body kick and Amuneke counters with a left and a right that stings Al Haddad. Al Haddad shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Amuneke but Amuneke pushes him off and we're back to square one. Florentine Amuneke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Najmeddine Mohammed Al Haddad. Al Haddad clinches with his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Al Haddad darts in looking for a takedown but Amuneke gets double underhooks and turns Al Haddad into the cage. A punch combination from Al Haddad misses. Al Haddad throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Amuneke's waist but Amuneke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Al Haddad off to one side. Al Haddad looks winded! Al Haddad attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Al Haddad has his takedown stuffed and Amuneke counters with a series of strikes. Al Haddad will be more careful next time no doubt. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Al Haddad closes the distance and clinches. Al Haddad is defending well against a takedown attempt. Amuneke really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Al Haddad fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Al Haddad fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Amuneke, pushing him back against the cage. Al Haddad tries to pull guard but Amuneke forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Al Haddad decides to pull guard. Amuneke advances to half guard. Al Haddad trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Al Haddad reaches up to try and control the position but Amuneke seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Al Haddad rolls and tries to escape and now Amuneke has his back!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Amuneke is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Al Haddad knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Al Haddad for a finish. Al Haddad trying to control but not successfully.

Al Haddad is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Al Haddad wants to control his opponent's hands but Amuneke gets his hands free. Al Haddad rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Al Haddad is trying to stand up here but Amuneke is controlling him well. Amuneke content to control rather than advance. This has been an exciting period of action! Amuneke is thwarting Al Haddad's attempts to control the position. Al Haddad wants to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Amuneke tries to clinch up but Al Haddad circles away and keeps his distance. A head kick by Al Haddad misses and Amuneke counters with a one-two to the body. Amuneke leaves Al Haddad with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Al Haddad rushes Amuneke and presses him up against the cage. Al Haddad pulls Amuneke into guard.

Al Haddad throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Amuneke escapes and throws Al Haddad's legs to the side, diving into side control! Amuneke fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Al Haddad is breathing heavily. Al Haddad tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Amuneke wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Al Haddad takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amuneke remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Amuneke in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Al Haddad really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Amuneke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Al Haddad trying his best to control but Amuneke has mounted him. Al Haddad is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Al Haddad is looking to get to half guard. A nice elbow there by Amuneke. Amuneke trying to control but Al Haddad is having none of it. Al Haddad tries to improve his position but instead Amuneke has taken his back! Amuneke is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Al Haddad postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Amuneke is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Al Haddad, into his guard. Amuneke passes into half guard. Amuneke is looking for a kimura but Al Haddad is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Amuneke to get the leverage. Al Haddad is trying to stand up here but Amuneke is controlling him well. Al Haddad is trying to control but can't.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Amuneke in particular looking to stall. Al Haddad has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Amuneke is working away from the top position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Al Haddad pushes Amuneke off looking to stand but Amuneke dives back in and keeps control.

Florentine Amuneke is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Al Haddad changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Amuneke tries to avoid it but Al Haddad manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Amuneke to the ground. Amuneke escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Amuneke attempts a counter takedown but Al Haddad avoids it well and moves away. Al Haddad clinches with his opponent.

Amuneke is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Al Haddad defends well. Al Haddad seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Amuneke uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Al Haddad's guard. Nice move by Amuneke! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Al Haddad holds on and takes a little breather.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amuneke passes Al Haddad's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Al Haddad is not content to let Amuneke control the position. Al Haddad trying to hold on to Amuneke's head to control him but Amuneke postures up.
Amuneke throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Al Haddad wants to get back to full guard. Al Haddad preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Al Haddad is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Amuneke pulls his head out easily. Al Haddad trying to control but Amuneke postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Amuneke trying to control from half guard but Al Haddad is working away. Al Haddad actively working from the bottom here. Al Haddad wants to get back to full guard but Amuneke has passed into side control. Amuneke throws a strike aimed at the side of Al Haddad's head but Al Haddad avoids it well. Al Haddad is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Al Haddad is not content to let Amuneke control the position. Najmeddine Mohammed Al Haddad has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Florentine Amuneke is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Amuneke tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Florentine Amuneke. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Amuneke, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
