Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Georges Cro Cop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Cro Cop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Terry Tate!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate circles away from the clinch attempt.
A good leg kick by Tate.
Cro Cop keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tate.
Cro Cop could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Tate fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Georges Cro Cop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terry Tate.
A combination from Tate does no damage.
Tate blocks a head kick by Cro Cop.

Cro Cop closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Tate throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Cro Cop decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tate to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cro Cop shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tate's guard.

Tate is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Cro Cop is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Cro Cop has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Tate is trying to maintain the position but Cro Cop is very close to passing his half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cro Cop has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cro Cop is landing with some decent strikes but Tate is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Cro Cop gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Tate is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Cro Cop pulls his head out easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cro Cop sneaks out the side door and pushes Tate away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Cro Cop tries to kick Tate off but Tate keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Tate is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cro Cop is just riding it out for now. Tate eventually gives up the hold.

Tate is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cro Cop wants to control but Tate is keeping busy.

Cro Cop wants to get up but he can't break Tate's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Cro Cop sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tate's guard.
Tate has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cro Cop is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tate had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cro Cop is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Tate Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cro Cop's back instead.
Cro Cop is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tate can do to turn this around?

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cro Cop, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
