Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob $tone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antigua Barbuda! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! $tone scores with a nice strike. Barbuda throws a series of punches but $tone moves out of range. $tone lunges at Barbuda with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Barbuda's hand. Barbuda uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by $tone.
Barbuda pushing out the jab but it's not landing. $tone tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Barbuda is able to avoid easily. $tone slips a jab from Barbuda. $tone bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Barbuda's head. $tone scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. $tone lands with a right hand. Barbuda punishes $tone's body with a nice straight punch. $tone sizes up Barbuda with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! $tone scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Barbuda waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract $tone. $tone swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. $tone scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Barbuda throws a looping overhand right but $tone ducks down to avoid it. $tone closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Barbuda did well to prevent $tone getting side control. $tone throwing shots but Barbuda is blocking nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. $tone trying to mount his opponent but Barbuda defends it. $tone is figuring out what he wants to do next. $tone moves nicely into side control. $tone has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. $tone prevents Barbuda from escaping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. $tone cracks Barbuda with a big right hand but Barbuda just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
$tone works to advance to full mount. Barbuda defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. $tone lands a nice shot to the head. $tone lands with some strikes. Barbuda taking shots to the head. $tone working away from the top, dropping strikes. $tone unloading with bombs! $tone controlling from the full mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, $tone cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Barbuda is rocked! Barbuda looks winded! $tone looking to finish Barbuda with some ground and pound. This is bad for Barbuda! $tone landing punches. Barbuda is still in real trouble! Can $tone finish him?
That's three minutes gone in the round. $tone scoring with strikes but Barbuda is staying in there. $tone unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Barbuda wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! $tone celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rob $tone! During a confident post fight interview, Rob $tone thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
