Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seelow Heights (ranked 7942 p4p, 622 weight class) and Krisko Kurtev (ranked 1717 p4p, 233 weight class). Heights's entrance music is For Heavy Metal we will die!. A fine choice. Krisko Kurtev is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Seelow Heights! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Krisko Kurtev! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Heights misses with a double jab.
Kurtev tries to score a power double leg takedown but Heights sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kurtev somewhat. Heights closes the distance and pushes Kurtev back into the cage. Heights lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kurtev backwards. Kurtev goes for a takedown in the clinch but Heights prevents it.
Kurtev is looking for a takedown. Seelow Heights has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Krisko Kurtev. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A nice right hand lands inside from Heights. Heights lands with a short punch from the clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Heights lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Heights looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Heights postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kurtev is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Heights is aware though and is defending well. Kurtev looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Heights passes Kurtev's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Kurtev throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Heights manages to pass to side control. Heights controls the position. Kurtev tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Kurtev is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Kurtev wants to control but Heights postures up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kurtev can do anything to dispel that myth. Kurtev tries to strike but it doesn't land. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Kurtev's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kurtev is trying to improve his position. Kurtev can't do much from the bottom here. Kurtev is looking to reverse the position. Heights is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Kurtev is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kurtev struggling a bit here. Kurtev tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Heights lands a left and a right that send Kurtev crashing to the mat, dazed. Heights thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Kurtev with a poor takedown and Heights makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Kurtev tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Heights defends well and Kurtev ends up having to push Heights into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Heights defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kurtev. Nice sprawl there from Heights as Kurtev shoots in. Heights lands a jab to the nose. Heights throws a head kick but Kurtev moves out of range.
Heights throws a right and a left that Kurtev avoids nicely. Heights lands with an uppercut that bounces Kurtev off the cage and back into range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Seelow Heights dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kurtev shoots in for a takedown but Heights shows good takedown defense. Kurtev fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Heights is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Heights getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Kurtev walks into a jab. Heights wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Heights takes the fight into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Heights scores with an uppercut up the middle. Kurtev tries to score a body lock takedown but Heights shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Seelow Heights has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's one minute gone in the round. Heights lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Heights is pressed up against the cage. Kurtev has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Heights down to the mat. Heights avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Kurtev tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Heights paws at him with a jab and circles away. Heights takes the fight into the clinch. Kurtev is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Heights pulls him back up using the underhooks. Kurtev decides to pull guard. Heights slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Kurtev trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Heights is pushing down on Kurtev's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kurtev is fighting to maintain full guard but Heights has managed to sneak the leg through. Heights passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kurtev! Kurtev is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Heights blocks Kurtev's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Heights sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Heights prevents Kurtev from getting the reversal.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heights controlling from the full mount. Heights's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Heights wants to get back to his feet but Kurtev is holding on tight.
Heights takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kurtev is trying to reverse the position but instead Heights has taken his back - oops! Heights really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Kurtev. Kurtev can't escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Heights gets his hands free as Kurtev looks to control. Heights keeps control of the position as Kurtev tries to break free.
Kurtev is trying to stand back up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A bit of a pause in the action here. Heights controlling the positon. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Seelow Heights dominated that second round. That's time! Heights's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!
Heights gets tackled into the cage by Kurtev. Kurtev maintains the clinch. Kurtev gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kurtev looks to land a strike but Heights avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Kurtev postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Heights is pulling down on Kurtev's head. It's preventing any offense from Kurtev, at least for the moment. Heights looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kurtev trying to control the position from guard on top but Heights is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Heights utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Heights is thwarting Kurtev's attempts to control the position. Heights frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Kurtev wants to hold on but Heights pushes him away. Kurtev can't escape the position.

Kurtev has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Heights controlling from mount. Kurtev reaches up to try and control the position but Heights seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Kurtev rolls and tries to escape and now Heights has his back!
Krisko Kurtev has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kurtev tries to roll but Heights sticks to his back.

Heights gets his hands free as Kurtev looks to control. Heights is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kurtev can do to turn this around? Kurtev tries to break free.
Kurtev manages to reverse the position and now he's in Heights's guard. Nice work there by Kurtev.

At least for now. Kurtev throws a strike but Heights rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Heights slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kurtev throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Kurtev has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Heights is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kurtev.
And that's the end of the fight! Seelow Heights showed his dominance in that final round. Well Heights has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
