The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Reed Andrews and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McNulty shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Slater but Slater pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Slater misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Slater lands a left and a right that sends McNulty crashing to the canvas! Slater dives into mount looking to finish!

It looks like Jimmy McNulty has been cut.
McNulty tries to hold on but Slater postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McNulty shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Slater as he jumps to the side.
No joy there for Slater, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

McNulty is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Slater has managed to free his arm - good work.

Slater is refusing to be controlled, as McNulty sits in half guard.
McNulty looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

McNulty moves away from the strike by Slater.
Slater works over McNulty's head and body with a nice combination.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McNulty steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Slater.
Slater throws a right and a left that McNulty avoids nicely.

McNulty fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Slater, pushing him back against the cage.
McNulty is trying to break free.
McNulty wants a takedown.
Slater lands a hook that snaps the head of McNulty backwards.
McNulty tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Slater just stands there and leans against the cage.
Jack Slater has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy McNulty.
McNulty tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Slater smiles and moves away.

McNulty shoots for a takedown but Slater saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Slater throws a lazy right hand but McNulty sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Slater tries a head kick but it misses.
McNulty fails with a takedown attempt.

McNulty tries to clinch but Slater moves out of range.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A slow jab from Slater misses its intended target.
The fight stays on the outside here - McNulty looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Slater thows a left - swing and a miss!

I would just about give that final round to Jimmy McNulty.
I think McNulty has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
