Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Van Bromer (ranked 2989 p4p, 316 weight class) and William Wallace (ranked 4441 p4p, 398 weight class). Van Bromer's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Go To War - Nothing More. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Van Bromer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Wallace! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Van Bromer drives through with a takedown into Wallace's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Van Bromer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wallace swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wallace wants to stand and escape but Van Bromer is having none of it. Van Bromer controlling from the top position. Wallace avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Bromer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Van Bromer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Van Bromer forces his way into half guard. Wallace is staying active underneath Van Bromer, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace is looking to escape. Van Bromer passes to full mount! Wallace felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Wallace trying desperately to get to his feet.
Van Bromer throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Van Bromer misses with a head shot. Van Bromer has control of Wallace's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Wallace regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Van Bromer pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Van Bromer throws some wild stikes that Wallace manages to avoid easily.
Van Bromer landing strikes, looking to finish! Van Bromer is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Wallace can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Poor strikes thrown by Van Bromer there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Van Bromer landing strikes from the mount and Wallace is in trouble! Van Bromer looking for a guillotine from mount but Wallace is having none of it. Wallace defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Van Bromer. Van Bromer won't let Wallace get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Van Bromer throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Van Bromer misses with a head shot. Wallace avoids a series of strikes thrown by Van Bromer.

Matt Van Bromer dominated that round. That's time! Van Bromer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Wallace will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Van Bromer fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Van Bromer lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Wallace fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Wallace scores with a nice right hand.
Wallace connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Wallace misses with the combination.
Wallace stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wallace wants it to stay on the feet. Wallace swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wallace connects with a crisp jab. Wallace scores with the left hand. Van Bromer knows he should have avoided that one. Wallace misses with a right hand so Van Bromer counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wallace is looking to stand up but Van Bromer isn't so interested in that idea. Van Bromer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Bromer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Matt Van Bromer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wallace working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Van Bromer. Van Bromer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Van Bromer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Wallace keeping moving, preventing Van Bromer from controlling successfully. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wallace can do anything to dispel that myth. Van Bromer is really struggling to control Wallace but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Van Bromer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Van Bromer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Wallace tries to bum rush Van Bromer with a series of wild strikes but Van Bromer uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Wallace throws a right hand that Van Bromer ducks under and follows up with a left that Van Bromer also avoids with ease. Van Bromer half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Van Bromer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wallace defends it nicely. Wallace lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wallace throws a leg kick which misses Van Bromer's front leg but catches the back leg as Van Bromer tries to avoid it. Van Bromer tries for a takedown but Wallace circles away easily and Wallace counters with a lovely straight right hand! Wallace lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Van Bromer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wallace moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Wallace keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Bromer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Wallace finds it's way round the side to connect with Van Bromer's head. Wallace paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Wallace throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Wallace lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Van Bromer backs up against the cage.
Van Bromer shoots in looking for a takedown. Wallace tries to sprawl out of it but Van Bromer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wallace manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Van Bromer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wallace throws a leg kick but Van Bromer checks it. Wallace fails to land with a series of punches.
William Wallace seems to be getting the better of the standup. Van Bromer shoots in looking for a takedown but Wallace manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Van Bromer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Wallace feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Van Bromers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wallace throws a hook but Van Bromer avoids it easily. Wallace keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wallace uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Van Bromer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Wallace is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Van Bromer works his way into side control. Van Bromer tries for a kimura but Wallace is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
William Wallace showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Wallace swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Van Bromer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Wallace scores with a nice right hand.

Wallace looks like he wants to counter punch here. Van Bromer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Wallace slaps away a takedown attempt from Van Bromer, before circling back to the center of the mat. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Van Bromer fails with the takedown and Wallace counters with a series of strikes. Van Bromer will be more careful next time no doubt. Wallace misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Van Bromer half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Van Bromer dives in for a single leg takedown but Wallace sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Van Bromer walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Wallace throws a right and a left that both miss. Wallace feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Van Bromers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Wallace connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Van Bromer needs to keep his hands up - Wallace had a free shot at his head there. Matt Van Bromer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A jab from Wallace finds it's way through Van Bromer's defenses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wallace uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Van Bromer. Wallace throws a good cross that connects.
Wallace lands with a hook. Van Bromer tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Van Bromer goes for a double leg but Wallace avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wallace continues to drive forward. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Wallace! But no joy. Van Bromer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wallace fails to land with a series of punches.
Van Bromer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wallace pinned against the cage. Wallace gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. As Van Bromer backs off Wallace throws a huge counter combo but Van Bromer manages to avoid it all. Wallace swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Van Bromer's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Wallace connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Van Bromer scrambles back to his feet. Wallace misses with a two punch combination.
Van Bromer appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Wallace cracks Van Bromer with a right hand to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Van Bromer shoots in for a takedown but Wallace shows good takedown defense. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Wallace lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Van Bromer has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Van Bromer and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Wallace misses with a two punch combination.
Van Bromer has a takedown stuffed. Van Bromer shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Van Bromer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wallace looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Wallace is looking to get back to his feet here but Van Bromer is keeping cool and he's managed to take Wallace's back. Van Bromer is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Wallace has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Van Bromer working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Wallace has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Van Bromer is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Wallace knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Wallace for a finish. Van Bromer is looking for the choke from the back position but Wallace is controlling his hands well.
And that's the end of the fight! William Wallace comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Wallace has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
