Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Davey DeLuca (ranked 4436 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cleyton Da Silva (ranked 3412 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Davey DeLuca!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cleyton Da Silva!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeLuca fails with the takedown.
DeLuca shoots in for a takedown but Da Silva shows good takedown defense.
Da Silva misses with a head kick.
DeLuca fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Da Silva avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Davey DeLuca. That's going to take a lot out of him.
DeLuca looks to land a body kick but Da Silva moved away.
Da Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Da Silva tries to clinch up but DeLuca circles away and keeps his distance.

DeLuca manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Da Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

DeLuca ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. DeLuca no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
DeLuca wants to hit a switch here but Da Silva passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for DeLuca there!

DeLuca knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Da Silva on the ground.
DeLuca prevents any damage by holding on tight.
DeLuca tries to lock up and control but Da Silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Da Silva sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
DeLuca is looking to get to half guard.

DeLuca sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
DeLuca is controlling Da Silva's trapped leg to prevent Da Silva from advancing to side control.
Da Silva wants to take a breather but DeLuca is having none of it.
Da Silva moves into full mount! DeLuca won't be happy about that!
DeLuca wants to hold on but Da Silva pushes him away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Da Silva can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as DeLuca is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cleyton Da Silva dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Da Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. DeLuca tries to sprawl out of it but Da Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. DeLuca manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

DeLuca is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
DeLuca has had enough of the clinch but Da Silva keeps him there for the moment.
DeLuca drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Da Silva gets the underhooks and prevents it.

DeLuca working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Da Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Da Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



DeLuca has closed the distance and engaged Da Silva in a clinch.
DeLuca is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Da Silva is defending well.
Da Silva jumps guard but DeLuca stands there with Da Silva around his waist. Da Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Da Silva is trying to pull guard but DeLuca turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
DeLuca wants to take the fight to the mat but Da Silva manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Da Silva has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by DeLuca after a bit of a struggle.

Da Silva drops down looking for an ankle pick but DeLuca pulls his leg out and moves away.

DeLuca seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Da Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as DeLuca sprawls well. DeLuca wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Da Silva gets slowly back to his feet.

DeLuca displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Da Silva.

DeLuca closes the distance and pushes Da Silva back into the cage.

DeLuca gets control of Da Silva's arms and successfully pulls guard. DeLuca will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

DeLuca shoots in looking for a takedown. Da Silva tries to sprawl out of it but DeLuca keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Da Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Da Silva looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Da Silva defends well against a solid takedown attempt from DeLuca.
Da Silva is looking to clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Davey DeLuca.
I think Da Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
