Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Tyre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jokke Nappula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jokke Nappula will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stephen Tyre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jokke Nappula! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tyre fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Tyre changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nappula tries to avoid it but Tyre manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nappula to the ground. Nappula escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Tyre rushes Nappula and presses him up against the cage. Tyre keeps control of Nappula as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Nappula is trying to break free. Nappula is trying to break free. Nappula escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

No joy there for Nappula, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tyre shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Nappula really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Tyre thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Nappula can't escape the position.
Tyre landing strikes from the mount and Nappula is in trouble! Nappula wants to hold on but Tyre pushes him away. Nappula might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Tyre kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Nappula is trying to escape the mount.
Tyre will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyre avoids the attempt from Nappula to control. Nappula keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Tyre working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Nappula is in all sorts of trouble here.
Nappula is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Tyre has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tyre landing punches. Nappula is looking to improve his position but Tyre isn't that keen on the idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Tyre throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Tyre throwing strikes here but Nappula is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Tyre is working for a guillotine from mount but Nappula frees his head quite easily.
Tyre is breathing heavily. Nappula can't escape the position.
Nappula is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Tyre misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Tyre throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Tyre has hold of Nappula's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nappula manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Nappula really wants to buck Tyre off and get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nappula is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Nappula regains half guard. Tyre tries to pass to full mount but Nappula defends it. Tyre is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nappula defends it well. Nappula is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tyre's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tyre's back! Tyre is in bad spot here.
Nappula has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tyre looking very determined here, making life difficult for Nappula.

Will Nappula go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Nappula is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Nappula tries to get the hooks in deep but Tyre pushed the leg off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jokke Nappula dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Nappula pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stephen Tyre is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nappula stuffs the takedown attempt from Tyre. Tyre gets slowly back to his feet. Nappula throws a head kick that half lands.
Nappula throws a push kick but Tyre slaps the foot to one side. Nappula tries a head kick but it misses.
Tyre avoids a kick to the body.
Tyre tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nappula misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tyre has a takedown stuffed. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nappula throws a series of punches but Tyre avoids them all with ease.
That's one minute gone in the round. A left and a right from Nappula both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Stephen Tyre has been cut. Nappula throws a sloppy head kick and Tyre moves out of range easily. Tyre lands with a straight right. Nappula didn't see that one coming. Nappula connects with the punch. Tyre shoots in and drives through. Nappula sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stephen Tyre. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nappula throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nappula lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tyre circles away quickly and effectively. Tyre wants to clinch. Tyre dodges the punch combination from Nappula.
Nappula lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Nappula. Nappula scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Nappula clobbers Tyre with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nappula tries to bum rush Tyre with a series of wild strikes but Tyre uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jokke Nappula seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nappula misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nappula throws a series of punches but Tyre moves out of range. Jokke Nappula is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nappula stuffs the takedown. Nappula misses with a double jab.
No luck for Tyre with that takedown attempt. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Tyre crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Nappula - the referee stops the clock and Tyre gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Nappula. Tyre manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Nappula lands with a slapping head kick. Nappula misses with a double jab.
Tyre takes the fight into the clinch. Tyre manages to break the clinch.

Tyre drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyre creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Nappula sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Nappula tries to get back to half guard but can't. Tyre is working Nappula over with some ground and pound from side control. Nappula is trying to control Tyre's posture but Tyre avoids it. Tyre tries to score with some ground and pound. Nappula controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Nappula manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Tyre wants to improve his position but Nappula is controlling well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A punch combination from Nappula misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Nappula throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tyre. Tyre really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Tyre fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Nappula misses with the combination.
Tyre closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nappula to the mat! Nappula manages to get full guard. Tyre won't allow Nappula to sweep him here. Tyre scoring with punches to the head and body. Tyre landing with the ground and pound. Nappula working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tyre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Nappula is tightening it up a little... Tyre has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Tyre reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Tyre taps out! nice BJJ there by Nappula!
