Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Distant Thunder (ranked 1315 p4p, 82 weight class) and Anthon Van Der Dusse (ranked 1084 p4p, 64 weight class). Thunder comes to the cage accompanied by Who Set The World On Fire. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthon Van Der Dusse! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thunder displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Van Der Dusse. Anthon Van Der Dusse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thunder ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Van Der Dusse moves away. We've been hearing reports that Thunder has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. A punch combination from Thunder misses. Van Der Dusse gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Thunder counters with a straight right hand. Van Der Dusse sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Van Der Dusse closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Thunder wants to control but Van Der Dusse postures up. Van Der Dusse is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Van Der Dusse pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Thunder tumbling to the mat - Van Der Dusse dives into Thunder's guard. Thunder escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Van Der Dusse gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Van Der Dusse postures up.

Van Der Dusse looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Thunder is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Van Der Dusse not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Van Der Dusse content to control rather than advance. Thunder is pressing down on Van Der Dusse's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Thunder working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Van Der Dusse doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Van Der Dusse manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Thunder looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Van Der Dusse has picked Thunder up and slammed him! Thunder can't keep hold of the triangle and Van Der Dusse manages to pass to side control! I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Thunder is looking to control Van Der Dusse's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Thunder avoid being mounted? Thunder is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Distant Thunder has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
