Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Sandoval (ranked 2630 p4p, 287 weight class) and Vladimir Kosmanov (ranked 2596 p4p, 283 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Miguel Sandoval!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Kosmanov!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sandoval tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kosmanov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kosmanov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sandoval pinned against the cage. Sandoval gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kosmanov scores with the left hand. Sandoval knows he should have avoided that one.
Kosmanov takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Kosmanov misses with a looping right.
A jab from Sandoval finds it's way through Kosmanov's defenses.
The fighters circle momentarily. Sandoval darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kosmanov, right into the meat.
Kosmanov lunges at Sandoval with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sandoval's hand.
Kosmanov throws a right and a left that Sandoval avoids nicely.

Sandoval tries to counter by clinching up but Kosmanov breaks away and moves out of range.

It looks like Sandoval has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Kosmanov clobbers Sandoval with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Kosmanov.
Sandoval is not content to let Kosmanov control the position.
Kosmanov throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Sandoval takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sandoval parries the strikes from Kosmanov easily there. Kosmanov is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sandoval to escape.
Kosmanov postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Sandoval is nestled in close to Kosmanov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Kosmanov throws a lazy right hand but Sandoval sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sandoval is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Kosmanov shoots in looking for a takedown. Sandoval tries to sprawl out of it but Kosmanov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sandoval manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kosmanov can do anything to dispel that myth.
