Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tim Shamrock (ranked 4372 p4p, 461 weight class) and Jermaine Fizzelstiks (ranked 24446 p4p, 624 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Shamrock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jermaine Fizzelstiks!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamrock tries to bum rush Fizzelstiks with a series of wild strikes but Fizzelstiks uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Tim Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shamrock throws a right hand that misses
enabling Fizzelstiks to counter with a crisp jab.
Shamrock throws a hook to the side of Fizzelstiks's head but Fizzelstiks sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Shamrock clinches up against the cage.

Shamrock has hold of one of Fizzelstiks's legs. Fizzelstiks is fighting the takedown attempt but Shamrock gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Shamrock missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Shamrock not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Fizzelstiks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shamrock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shamrock is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Shamrock has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Shamrock shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fizzelstiks's guard.

Shamrock postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Fizzelstiks keeping moving, preventing Shamrock from controlling successfully.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Shamrock seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Shamrock drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Fizzelstiks can't keep his opponent in guard - Shamrock advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Shamrock is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fizzelstiks is just riding it out for now. Shamrock eventually gives up the hold.

Shamrock is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Still in half guard, Shamrock seems content to control.
Shamrock throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Shamrock works his way into full mount!
Shamrock has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Fizzelstiks's face.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shamrock takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Shamrock trying to control but Fizzelstiks is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Shamrock throws a sloppy body shot
and Fizzelstiks cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Shamrock throws a lazy uppercut
letting Fizzelstiks counter with a right hand.
Fizzelstiks needs to keep his hands up - Shamrock had a free shot at his head there.
Shamrock throws a lazy right hand but Fizzelstiks sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Fizzelstiks tries to keep at a distance but Shamrock has taken the fight into the clinch.
Fizzelstiks is trying to break the clinch but Shamrock has him pressed against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Shamrock looking to stall.
Maybe Shamrock would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shamrock lands a left hand that snaps the head of Fizzelstiks backwards.
Shamrock is looking to take this one to the mat.
Shamrock dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Shamrock fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Shamrock manages to break the clinch.
Fizzelstiks ducks under a wild hook from Shamrock.
Fizzelstiks is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Shamrock with a body shot.
Shamrock throws an overhand right that lands on Fizzelstiks's shoulder, as Fizzelstiks tries to avoid the shot.
Shamrock misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
It seemed like Fizzelstiks was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Shamrock fails with the takedown
and Fizzelstiks counters with a nice uppercut.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Shamrock. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Fizzelstiks counters with a left to the body.
Jermaine Fizzelstiks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Fizzelstiks counters with a nice uppercut.

Shamrock is rocked!

Fizzelstiks flashes Shamrock a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Shamrock's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Shamrock crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Fizzelstiks punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
