Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Steel Ii (ranked 7447 p4p, 610 weight class) and Nick Gracie (ranked 7055 p4p, 588 weight class). Nick Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Steel Ii! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Gracie! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel Ii misses with an uppercut. Gracie avoids the body shot from Steel Ii.
Gracie uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Steel Ii. Gracie blocks the body kick.
Steel Ii throws a big shot that misses. Despite the aggression on Gracie's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Steel Ii tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gracie let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Alex Steel Ii seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steel Ii misses with a straight right. Steel Ii throws a half hearted mid kick. Gracie wants to counter the offense by Steel Ii and move into the clinch position. Gracie shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Steel Ii wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie stands up out of the half guard. Horrible takedown attempt by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Steel Ii, which made it look bad.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel Ii is looking to slow Gracie down with leg kicks. Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Gracie seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Gracie decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Steel Ii misses with a body kick. Gracie wants to counter the offense by Steel Ii and move into the clinch position. Steel Ii throws a jab when Gracie was well out of range. Gracie feints and as Steel Ii raises his hands in defense, Gracie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Steel Ii is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Steel Ii is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Gracie postures up in Steel Ii's guard and throws a big left but Steel Ii blocks it. Gracie trying to control but Steel Ii is working from the bottom. Gracie throwing strikes but missing. Steel Ii looking to control.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Steel Ii is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Gracie presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steel Ii escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gracie shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Steel Ii takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Gracie swings for the body but Steel Ii moves out of range.
Steel Ii delivers a nice body kick. Steel Ii rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Gracie slips under a jab from Steel Ii. Steel Ii throws the left hand but Gracie avoids the punch easily. Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Steel Ii tries to kick Gracie off but Gracie keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Gracie is controlling the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gracie lands a nice short elbow. This has been an exciting period of action! Gracie is controlling the pace.
Steel Ii is trying to stand back up but Gracie is controlling him
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Nick Gracie will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Gracie slips a jab from Steel Ii. Steel Ii throws a body punch but Gracie moves out of range. Steel Ii throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Steel Ii shows good takedown defense. A telegraphed right hand from Steel Ii misses the target. Gracie steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Steel Ii. That one must have hurt. Gracie tries to clinch there but Steel Ii circles away.
Steel Ii misses with a body kick. Gracie tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Gracie showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Steel Ii.
Gracie tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Steel Ii looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Alex Steel Ii has been cut. Steel Ii circles away from the clinch attempt and Steel Ii counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Steel Ii throws an overhand right that lands on Gracie's shoulder, as Gracie tries to avoid the shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Steel Ii misses the target. Steel Ii throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily. Steel Ii throws a combination that misses and Gracie counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Alex Steel Ii is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Steel Ii avoids a kick to the body.
Gracie scores with a takedown into Steel Ii's guard. Steel Ii can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gracie controls the pace. Nick Gracie has got the better of the ground game so far. Gracie throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gracie decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Steel Ii, up you get! Steel Ii loads up on a big right hand but Gracie slips the punch. Some wild striking there from Steel Ii.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A jab from Steel Ii misses. Gracie lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Gracie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Steel Ii napping and manages to drive through into side control! Steel Ii bucks up and tries to throw Gracie off but instead Gracie has got his back! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gracie has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Steel Ii's body.
Gracie working for a choke but Steel Ii is defending well. Gracie punches the canvas rather than the man. Well, with Gracie on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Steel Ii is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steel Ii defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Gracie's arms. Gracie just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Steel Ii avoids the strikes from Gracie. Gracie is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Steel Ii wants to get back to his feet. Gracie trying to control momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie is looking to control Steel Ii but Steel Ii is wriggling around and keeping busy. Steel Ii is trying to get back to his feet but Gracie has full control of the position and if anything, Steel Ii has just worked his way into a worse spot. Steel Ii just trying to survive but Gracie is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Gracie biding his time, looking for the opening.
Gracie working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Steel Ii is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Gracie has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Steel Ii taps out!
