Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gyukosho Fujimoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christophe Dupree!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dupree throws a leg kick
and Fujimoto counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Dupree goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A clash of legs there as Fujimoto blocks the low kick.
Dupree lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Dupree connects with a leg kick. Fujimoto looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

and Fujimoto counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dupree thinking.

and Dupree takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like Christophe Dupree has been cut.

Christophe Dupree seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dupree lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Dupree seems to have recovered his senses.
A bone on bone clash there as Fujimoto blocks the leg kick.
Fujimoto throws a body shot but no joy.
Fujimoto moves out of range as Dupree strikes.
It looked like Fujimoto wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dupree. Fujimoto does a little dance to reset his feet.

Fujimoto was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Fujimoto has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Dupree feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Fujimoto's calf.

Fujimoto is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Fujimoto displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dupree throws out the jab.

Dupree walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Fujimoto checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Dupree wants to slow Fujimoto down by chopping away at his legs.
Fujimoto scores with a nice head shot.
Dupree throws a predictable looking body shot
letting Fujimoto counter with a right hand.
Fujimoto has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dupree finds it's way round the side to connect with Fujimoto's head.

Dupree lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dupree feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Fujimoto's calf.

Fujimoto steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dupree.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gyukosho Fujimoto will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Fujimoto darts in and clinches Dupree up against the cage.
Fujimoto tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Fujimoto has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Christophe Dupree showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Dupree throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Fujimoto cracks Dupree with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Fujimoto has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Dupree to stand back up!

Fujimoto chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dupree can pounce on him.

Fujimoto lands a big uppercut and Dupree crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Dupree looks OK. Fujimoto waves Dupree back to his feet!

After winning the bout, Gyukosho Fujimoto thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
