Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stunny Silverston (ranked 3739 p4p, 0 weight class) and James MacLaren (ranked 21847 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stunny Silverston !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James MacLaren!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacLaren dives in for a single leg takedown but Silverston sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

MacLaren moves into the clinch successfully.
MacLaren has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silverston avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

MacLaren breaks from the clinch.

MacLaren closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Our sources have told us that Silverston has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
MacLaren's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
MacLaren tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Silverston smiles and moves away.
Stunny Silverston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James MacLaren.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
MacLaren tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Silverston defends well and MacLaren ends up having to push Silverston into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Silverston is looking for a counter combo.
MacLaren will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Silverston digs a good body shot into MacLaren's ribs.

Silverston scores with a one two! MacLaren had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
MacLaren shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silverston but Silverston pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Silverston counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Silverston moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Silverston slaps away a takedown attempt from MacLaren, before circling back to the center of the mat.

James MacLaren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silverston throws a head kick that misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silverston lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Silverston throws a right and a left that both miss.
Silverston uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by MacLaren.

MacLaren moves into the clinch successfully.

MacLaren pulls Silverston into guard.

MacLaren had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Silverston defends it easily.

Silverston trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
MacLaren looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Silverston prevents MacLaren from getting back to his feet.
Silverston throws a big right hand that misses.

MacLaren has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from MacLaren.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Silverston throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around MacLaren's waist but MacLaren gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silverston off to one side.
Silverston scoring well with a low kick there.
Silverston bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

MacLaren takes the fight into the clinch.
MacLaren tries to pull guard but Silverston won't allow it.
MacLaren wants a takedown.
MacLaren lands a shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stunny Silverston dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Silverston scores with a hook.
MacLaren throws a right and a left that Silverston avoids nicely.
Silverston throws a series of punches but MacLaren moves out of range.
Silverston lands with a kick to the temple. MacLaren shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
No luck with that takedown attempt from MacLaren.

MacLaren darts in and clinches Silverston up against the cage.

MacLaren is pushing Silverston up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Silverston is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

MacLaren breaks from the clinch.
Silverston bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
MacLaren will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Silverston tries to keep at a distance but MacLaren has taken the fight into the clinch.

MacLaren pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Silverston is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that MacLaren can do to turn this around?
Nice takedown defense from Silverston . No joy for MacLaren on that attempt.
Silverston feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to MacLaren's calf.
MacLaren changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silverston tries to avoid it but MacLaren manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silverston to the ground. Silverston escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
MacLaren is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Silverston .
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
MacLaren shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and MacLaren takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
MacLaren has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Silverston lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
MacLaren has his takedown stuffed
and Silverston counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.


MacLaren is rocked!

and Silverston counters with a left right combination that sends MacLaren crashing to the mat - Silverston wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding MacLaren out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
