The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva Sr misses with a double jab
and Rhea counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Silva Sr has a takedown stuffed.
A punch lands to the side of Silva Sr 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Silva Sr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Silva Sr throws a left and a right that both miss
and Rhea counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Vince Silva Sr has been cut.

Silva Sr takes the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva Sr tries to stall but Rhea uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Silva Sr tries to throw a body punch but Rhea avoids it by throwing Silva Sr back against the cage.

Rhea lands a left and a right that send Silva Sr crashing to the mat, dazed. Rhea thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
A solid leg kick lands there for Rhea.

Rhea lands a right hand that snaps the head of Silva Sr backwards.
A right hook to the body lands for Rhea.

Rhea lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Silva Sr or not.

Rhea lands with a short shot to the head.

I was talking to Rhea's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Rhea gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Silva Sr is rocked!
Rhea pushes Silva Sr back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Silva Sr is still on wobbly legs! Can Rhea finish him?
A nice left hand lands by Rhea.
Rhea creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Silva Sr with a big uppercut! Silva Sr tries to clinch up but Rhea pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Silva Sr to the mat! Silva Sr covers up and Rhea unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
