Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jacob Knight! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shruve looks for the body kick but Knight saw that one coming. Knight fails to land the takedown. Shruve misses with a takedown and Knight counters with a single leg into guard. Shruve didn't expect that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shruve looking for a sweep. Not yet Shruve, not yet. Shruve working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Knight doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Knight manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Shruve looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Knight drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Shruve dives on top into guard. Knight escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shruve gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Knight looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Shruve has picked Knight up and slammed him! Knight can't keep hold of the triangle and Shruve manages to pass to side control! Knight is looking to reverse the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shruve tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Knight tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shruve wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Knight, who protects the arm well. Shruve working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Knight tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shruve wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Shruve working the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Knight is trying to get back to half guard. Knight is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Shruve really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Shruve tries for a kimura but Knight is defending well. Shruve tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Shruve is breathing heavily. Knight is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Knight really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shruve. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shruve working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Shruve in side control lands a decent elbow. Knight is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Shruve will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Knight is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Knight looking for a kimura from the bottom but Shruve passes into side control! Shruve is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Knight knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Shruve has hold of Knight's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Knight seems comfortable defending it but Shruve has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Knight is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Knight is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Shruve couldn't care less - he's delighted!
