The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hess closes the distance and pushes Bogard back into the cage. Hess has clasped his hands together around Bogard's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Hess is trying to get an arm triangle but Bogard is defending well. Hess taking a break here but Bogard is having none of it and regains half guard. Bogard is trying to stand back up but Hess is controlling him
Bogard makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Bogard misses with a body shot.
Bogard missing with a left hand there. Hess was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Hess shoots for a takedown but Bogard saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bogard ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Bogard shoots in and drives through. Hess sprawls well. Hess throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hess shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hess was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Bogard is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Hess lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bogard hang on? Bogard is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Bogard is breathing heavily. Hess thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Hess controlling his opponent. Bogard wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Hess.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bogard wants to try and get back to his feet. Hess landing strikes from the mount. Hess throwing strikes here but Bogard is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Bogard throws a right and a left that both miss. Rocky Bogard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bogard throws a one two combo.
Bogard tries to clinch but Hess moves out of range. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Hess!

Bogard looks to score with a jab to the body but Hess is just out of range. Hess will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Bogard throws a combination. Hess tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Bogard gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hess counters by clinching up. Hess gets underhooks to prevent Bogard's takedown attempt.
Hess escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A big left from Hess misses. Bogard misses with a takedown attempt and Hess counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hess. Hess is fighting it off but Bogard persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hess's guard against the cage. Bogard wants to stand and escape but instead Hess has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Hess stands up and waves to Bogard to follow him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hess tries to clinch but Bogard is having none of it. Hess drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hess has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bogard is proving hard to escape from. Hess trying to control but Bogard is working from the bottom. Bogard wants to stand up but Hess is controlling him. Hess sitting in guard here, content to control.

Bogard bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hess is looking for a sweep. Hess struggling a bit here. Hess is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hess tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Hess is looking to improve his position but Bogard isn't that keen on the idea. Hess tries to hold on but Bogard postures up. Bogard sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Bogard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bogard stands up from mount. Strange move. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Derick Hess will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Hess can't do much from the bottom here. Hess manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bogard's best efforts. Bogard decides to stand and escape the position. Bogard misses with a takedown so Hess counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hess throwing strikes but missing. Bogard has his feet on Hess's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Hess closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Bogard gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hess.

Bogard scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hess doesn't seem bothered though. Bogard closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hess to the mat! Hess manages to get full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hess throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Bogard gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Bogard has his takedown stuffed and Hess counters with a straight right hand. Bogard gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hess moves into the clinch. Bogard tries for a takedown. No joy.

Hess throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bogard escapes and throws Hess's legs to the side, diving into side control! Bogard working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. What's Hess going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Bogard decides to stand back up. Bogard steps back and let's Hess get back to his feet. Bogard has his takedown stuffed and Hess counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Derick Hess is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Excellent takedown into side control there by Hess. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hess is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Bogard's shoulder. That is not cool. Rocky Bogard has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hess cracks Bogard with a big right hand but Bogard just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Derick Hess. I've got Hess winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
