Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Brownie (ranked 2346 p4p, 281 weight class) and Jushin Thunder (ranked 1620 p4p, 207 weight class). Jushin Thunder has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shaun Brownie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jushin Thunder!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thunder pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A jab lands there for Brownie.


It looks like Jushin Thunder has been cut.
Thunder swings for the body but Brownie moves out of range.
Brownie with a nice cross.
Thunder steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Brownie.

Brownie shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Thunder wants to improve his position but Brownie is controlling well.
Thunder has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brownie is working away from the top position though.

Brownie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Thunder manages to avoid it.

Brownie closes the distance and clinches.
Thunder tries to break free but Brownie pushes him back against the cage.
Thunder is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Brownie seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Brownie is really struggling to control Thunder but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Brownie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Thunder is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Brownie is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Shaun Brownie will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Thunder tries to bum rush Brownie with a series of wild strikes but Brownie uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Brownie shoots in but no luck this time.
It seemed like Thunder was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Jushin Thunder's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jushin Thunder's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Shaun Brownie!
Shaun Brownie decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
