Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Glass Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bunta Fujiwara!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fujiwara misses with a looping left.
Fujiwara takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Fujiwara just misses with a punch to the body.
Joe shoots in but no luck this time.

Joe clinches up against the cage.
Fujiwara misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Joe.
Fujiwara throws a punch but it's blocked by Joe.
Fujiwara drops down looking for an ankle pick but Joe pulls his leg out and moves away.

Joe closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fujiwara's guard.
Fujiwara throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Joe content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joe has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Joe keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fujiwara's head.
Fujiwara wants to get back to his feet but Joe is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Fujiwara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Joe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fujiwara not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fujiwara can do anything to dispel that myth.
Joe won't allow Fujiwara to sweep him here.
Joe passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Joe looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Joe is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Fujiwara is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Glass Joe!
