Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Zapp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrey Gorohov!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zapp with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gorohov to score with a decent uppercut.
Gorohov connects with a single shot there.
Zapp gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Gorohov swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Gorohov is pressed up against the cage. Zapp has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gorohov down to the mat. Gorohov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Gorohov has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Zapp gets a clinch.
Zapp prevents a body shot from Gorohov.
Zapp fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Zapp jumps guard but Gorohov stands there with Zapp around his waist. Zapp gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Gorohov fails to land.
Gorohov lands a right hand.
Zapp blocks the elbow strike.

Gorohov lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
It looks like Johnny Zapp has been cut.
Gorohov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gorohov fails to land with a series of punches.
Nice body punch from Gorohov.
Zapp darts in and clinches Gorohov up against the cage.
Zapp pulls guard effortlessly.
Gorohov stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Zapp throws up his legs and catches Gorohov in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Gorohov tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Zapp! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Johnny Zapp!
In his post fight interview, Johnny Zapp started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
