Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Warran Peace! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Guido Van Dorestad! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Dorestad fails with a takedown attempt. Peace darts in and clinches Van Dorestad up against the cage. Van Dorestad is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Peace gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Peace works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peace throwing strikes but missing. Peace scoring with some ground and pound. Peace stands up over Van Dorestad, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Peace keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Van Dorestad's head. Peace scoring with some ground and pound. Peace trying to control but Van Dorestad is working from the bottom. Van Dorestad is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Peace makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Van Dorestad working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Peace doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Peace manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Peace throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peace wants to control from the top but Van Dorestad keeps moving. Van Dorestad is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Peace trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Peace postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Van Dorestad has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peace can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Peace trying to control but Van Dorestad is working from the bottom. Van Dorestad had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Peace defends it easily. Van Dorestad has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Peace doesn't defend quickly enough and Van Dorestad has managed to lock this one up! Can Peace escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Van Dorestad on a fantastic submission victory.
