Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chrollo Lucifer (ranked 3674 p4p, 181 weight class) and Randy Rutheford (ranked 4443 p4p, 211 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lucifer might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Phantom Troupe Theme. Randy Rutheford has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lucifer.
Lucifer slows the pace down.

Rutheford is letting Lucifer control him for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lucifer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Lucifer is trying to get an arm triangle but Rutheford is defending well.
The referee asks Lucifer politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Lucifer prefers to stall for the moment though.
Lucifer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rutheford for as long as he can get away with.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rutheford is looking to regain half guard here but Lucifer keeps moving and retains side control.
Rutheford is still trying to improve position.
Rutheford is trying to escape the position but Lucifer is controlling the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Lucifer goes for a double leg but Rutheford avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rutheford continues to drive forward.
It seemed like Rutheford was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
