Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Ristinen (ranked 5222 p4p, 500 weight class) and Floki Agard (ranked 2814 p4p, 332 weight class). Jesse Ristinen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jesse Ristinen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Floki Agard! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Agard shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ristinen but Ristinen pushes him off and we're back to square one. Agard changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Ristinen misses with a hook
so Agard counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Agard trying to control the position from guard on top but Ristinen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ristinen wants to control the position but Agard says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Ristinen's coaches at Secret Lab have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Ristinen is concentrating on defense, preventing Agard from advancing position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ristinen trying to control here.

Agard seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ristinen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Agard fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ristinen is out of range. Ristinen takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Ristinen tries to sprawl but Agard drives through with a takedown into half guard. Agard wants to stand but Ristinen has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Ristinen tries to roll over but Agard keeps him under control. Ristinen is controlling Agard's trapped leg to prevent Agard from advancing to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ristinen works his way to full guard. Good work. Ristinen is trying to keep Agard in close.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Left hook, right uppercut from Agard. Floki Agard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Agard throws a right hand that misses
and Ristinen counters with a takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Agard prevents Ristinen from moving into mount. Ristinen goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Agard rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ristinen's guard! Nice work there by Agard! Ristinen keeping moving, preventing Agard from controlling successfully. Ristinen looking for subs off his back but Agard has passed one foot through into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Agard wants to stand but Ristinen has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ristinen is looking to get back to full guard here but Agard has managed to pass to side control instead. Ristinen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Agard knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Ristinen advances nicely into full mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ristinen goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Agard is on top in guard.
We've been informed that Agard has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Ristinen pulls Agard in close to prevent any damage.

Ristinen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Agard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Agard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Agard trying to stand up but can't free himself from Ristinen's guard. Agard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ristinen looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Agard wants to control from the top but Ristinen keeps moving. Agard must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ristinen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ristinen working for submissions but it's allowed Agard to get to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Agard looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Agard just misses with a punch to the body.
Agard tries to clinch but Ristinen is having none of it. Ristinen drops down looking for a counter takedown but Agard sprawls and moves away. Agard misses with a series of wild punches.

Agard throws a lazy head kick and Ristinen counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Agard! Agard is not content to let Ristinen control the position. Ristinen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ristinen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Floki Agard will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Ristinen rushes Agard and presses him up against the cage. Agard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Agard moves in looking to clinch but Ristinen pushes him off. Ristinen tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Agard changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ristinen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Ristinen struggling a bit here. Ristinen is looking for a sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Agard working away. Agard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ristinen keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Agard decides to take the fight back to the feet. Floki Agard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Agard shoots in and drives through. Ristinen sprawls well. Ristinen circles away from the clinch attempt and Ristinen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Agard's guard. Ristinen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Floki Agard has got the better of the ground game so far. Ristinen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Agard swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ristinen showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Floki Agard is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ristinen looking to sit in guard and control but Agard gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Agard lying in Ristinen's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Ristinen decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Agard taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
