The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tawaivuna takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Tawaivuna shoots in and drives through. Stevenson sprawls well.
Stevenson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Tawaivuna takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
No luck for Tawaivuna with that takedown attempt.
Stevenson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Stevenson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tawaivuna shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stevenson pinned against the cage. Stevenson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Juan Carlos Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ribaraoi Tawaivuna.
Tawaivuna dodges the punch combination from Stevenson.
Tawaivuna shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stevenson as he avoids it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tawaivuna is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Stevenson lands a head shot.
A punch lands to the side of Tawaivuna 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Stevenson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Stevenson batters Tawaivuna with a massive right followed by a huge left! Tawaivuna is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Stevenson lands a final crushing right hand to drop Tawaivuna to the mat with a gruesome thud! Stevenson is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Juan Carlos Stevenson!
