Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Jon Rambo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cranky Smith!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith drives through with a takedown into Rambo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Rambo has his feet on Smith's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Rambo tries to score with a low kick but Smith moves his leg out of the way.
Smith shoots in and bounces Rambo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Rambo is looking to stand back up but Smith counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Rambo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith is keen to just control but Rambo is a slippery customer.
Rambo's coaches at London MMA Club have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Rambo tries to kick Smith off but Smith keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Rambo is trying to stand up here but Smith is controlling him well.
Smith looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Smith is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rambo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith.
Smith tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rambo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rambo is just riding it out for now. Smith eventually gives up the hold.
Smith is working for a kimura but Rambo is defending it quite comfortably.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Smith has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Rambo defend it? Smith steps over the head and cranks it - Rambo is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Smith!
