The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lal Tamang has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lal Tamang is trying to pull guard but Souza has him pressed against the cage.
Lal Tamang working hard to break the clinch.
Souza can't break the clinch.
Souza wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Souza has Lal Tamang pressed against the cage.

Souza is trying to trip Lal Tamang. He has hold of a leg but Lal Tamang is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Souza persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Lal Tamang is wriggling around but Souza manages to pass to half guard.

Souza throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Souza is controlling the pace.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Souza working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Lal Tamang pushes Souza off, looking to escape but Souza dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Lal Tamang is forced to tap! The fight is over!
