The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarty avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Viking lands with an overhand left.
It looks like Darren McCarty has been cut.
Viking closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
McCarty swinging wildly here.
Viking flicks out a counter leg kick but McCarty steps away.
McCarty throws a poor cross that misses
and Viking counters with a thumping low kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Viking has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
