Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Goku Steve! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thiago Pereira! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pereira tries to clinch there but Steve circles away.
Pereira tries to close the distance and clinch up but Steve swats him away and circles back towards the center. Steve is looking to clinch. Steve lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Steve moves into the clinch. Pereira throws a head punch that misses. Steve breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Steve circles away from the clinch attempt and Steve counters with a takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steve trying to control the position but Pereira is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Steve staying calm. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Steve decides to stand up, so the ref orders Pereira to his feet.

He has the arm isolated but Pereira is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. You can see the frustration on Pereira's face as Steve controls the position. Pereira tries to escape but Steve is in control. Pereira looks gassed! Steve tries for a kimura but Pereira is defending well. Steve thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Pereira tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steve looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Pereira throwing hammer fists to the chest of Steve. What's that going to do exactly? Steve is landing with some decent strikes but Pereira is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Steve throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Pereira because Steve loaded up on that one. Pereira flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Steve looks for a takedown but Pereira sprawls well. Pereira closes the distance but Steve moves to the side and Steve makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Pereira really felt that one! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pereira is striking from the bottom but Steve uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Steve uses his free foot to push down on Pereira's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pereira.

Steve trying to control but Pereira is having none of it. Pereira is in a horrible position here. Steve smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Steve trying to control but Pereira is having none of it. Pereira is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Pereira squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pereira avoids a series of strikes thrown by Steve.

Pereira wants to clinch and Steve counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Steve seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pereira does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Steve content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Goku Steve just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Steve shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Steve was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Steve controlling from mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pereira is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Pereira is trying to stand up. Steve lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pereira hang on? Steve wants to control the pace but Pereira is squirming around nicely. Steve looking to control and managing it successfully. Steve lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Pereira is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The referee warns Pereira that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Steve gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Pereira wants to clinch but Steve slips to the side and Steve counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Steve decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Steve shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Steve showed some decent athleticism there. Pereira is looking to improve his position.
Steve stands up and beckons Pereira to join him on the feet. Goku Steve is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Pereira tries to clinch but Steve moves away and Steve counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Steve.

And that's the end of the fight! Goku Steve showed his dominance in that final round. Well Steve has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
