The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grimm slips a jab and a cross from Balboa.

Grimm is going olschool here, as he tries to force Balboa to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Balboa shrugs it off.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grimm is working for a guillotine from mount but Balboa frees his head quite easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Grimm is landing with some decent strikes but Balboa is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Balboa is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Grimm is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Balboa is surviving well by controlling Grimm's body position as best he can.
You get the feeling that Balboa really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Grimm lands a heavy elbow.
Balboa's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Balboa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grimm on the ground.

Grimm working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Balboa turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Grimm off and cradles Balboa's limp body as Grimm celebrates with his corner.
