Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Hammer (ranked 5220 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Roughan (ranked 4671 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Hammer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Josh Roughan! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hammer shoots in but Roughan avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hammer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Roughan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hammer's guard. Roughan stands up from Hammer's guard - Roughan perhaps looking for a knockout. Hammer fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Hammer. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roughan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hammer's guard. Hammer scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnny Hammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight stays on the outside here - Hammer looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Roughan tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Roughan shoots in and gets a takedown into Hammer's guard. Hammer pushes Roughan off and gets back to his feet.
Hammer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Roughan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammer tries to close the distance and clinch but Roughan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hammer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Roughan tries to counter by closing the distance. Roughan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hammer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Hammer throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Roughan shoots in and gets a takedown into Hammer's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roughan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Roughan forces Hammer back against the cage and clinches. Roughan's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Hammer manages to break the clinch.
Hammer slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Roughan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Roughan stands and steps away. Hammer gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Hammer dives in for a single leg takedown but Roughan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Hammer is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hammer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Roughan tries to clinch and Roughan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Roughan drives through with a takedown into guard. Hammer is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Roughan wants to take the fight to the mat but Hammer manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Hammer's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Hammer breaks the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Johnny Hammer will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Hammer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Roughan as he avoids it easily. Roughan changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Hammer throws a low kick, looking for Roughan's leg but Roughan calmly moves out of range. Roughan wants to counter the offense by Hammer and move into the clinch position. Roughan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Roughan not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Roughan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hammer is not content to let Roughan control the position. Roughan seems to be working for a kimura but Hammer defends the submission attempt. Roughan is trying to work for a kimura but Hammer is defending well.
Roughan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hammer is just riding it out for now. Roughan eventually gives up the hold. Roughan seems to be working for a kimura but Hammer defends the submission attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammer is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Roughan scores with a couple of nice shots. Hammer moves into full guard.
Roughan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hammer looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roughan drops back looking for a leg! Hammer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hammer manages to kick Roughan off! Roughan jumps back into Hammer's guard. Roughan wants to control from the top but Hammer keeps moving. Hammer wants to sweep but no luck. Roughan stands up from guard. Let's bang! Roughan drives through with a takedown into guard. Hammer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roughan throws a strike but Hammer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hammer won't allow Roughan to sweep him here. Roughan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Roughan lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Hammer is trying to control the position but Roughan postures up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Roughan wants to control from the top but Hammer keeps moving. Hammer looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Roughan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Roughan has his takedown stuffed and Hammer holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Hammer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Roughan.
Roughan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hammer dives in and grabs Roughan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Roughan pushes down on Hammer's head and hops out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Hammer or perhaps it was just good defense by Roughan, which made it look bad. Hammer throws a wild body kick that Roughan sees coming a mile off. Roughan doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Hammer shoots in but no luck this time. Despite the aggression on Roughan's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Hammer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Roughan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ground and pound from Roughan. Roughan trying to mount his opponent but Hammer defends it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roughan is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Hammer is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
