Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Beltran (ranked 2944 p4p, 279 weight class) and Bill Oddie (ranked 4379 p4p, 381 weight class). Oddie has chosen Wild Thing as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Beltran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bill Oddie!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oddie throws a head kick but Beltran moves out of range.
Beltran doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Oddie counters with a big head kick but Beltran shrugs it off.
Carlos Beltran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oddie throws a right hand that Beltran ducks under and follows up with a left that Beltran also avoids with ease.

Oddie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Oddie showed some decent athleticism there.
Oddie is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Oddie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Oddie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Beltran is just riding it out for now. Oddie eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Oddie wants to take a breather but Beltran is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Beltran has a takedown stuffed.

Oddie pushes Beltran up against the cage in a clinch.

Beltran is trying to drag Oddie to the mat but Oddie just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Oddie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Oddie has an active guard here but Beltran has managed to pass into half guard.

Beltran wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Oddie connects with a good right hand that stumbles Beltran. Beltran circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Oddie paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Oddie has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Beltran moves into range and clinches up with Oddie.

Beltran works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Oddie manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Oddie lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Beltran can't get the takedown.
Beltran is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Oddie pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Oddie lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Oddie stops a takedown attempt from Beltran.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Beltran. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Beltran fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Oddie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Oddie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Beltran was covering up waiting for the punch and Oddie finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Beltran has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Oddie has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Oddie lands an uppercut.

Oddie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Beltran shoots in looking for a takedown but Oddie manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Beltran's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Beltran lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Oddie backwards.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Beltran with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Oddie to score with a decent uppercut.
Oh Beltran is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Beltran pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Oddie clinches with his opponent.

Beltran is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Oddie gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Oddie lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Beltran backwards.

Oddie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
No luck for Beltran with that takedown attempt.

Oddie moves into the clinch successfully.
Beltran seems to have got his legs back now.
Beltran is working for takedown but Oddie is calmly controlling the position for now.
Beltran is trying to drag Oddie to the mat but Oddie just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Oddie swats away the attempt to clinch by Beltran.
Beltran fails with the takedown
and Oddie counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Oddie circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Beltran to the canvas! Beltran doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Oddie keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bill Oddie!
Our winner, Bill Oddie, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
