Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ash Williams (ranked 2853 p4p, 334 weight class) and Rodrigo Diaz (ranked 4378 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ash Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodrigo Diaz! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice inside leg kick there by Diaz. That's going to slow Williams down. Williams misses with a wild body shot. Diaz looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Williams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Diaz moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Williams closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Williams lands in his opponent's guard. Diaz working a defensive guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Diaz looking for a sweep. Not yet Diaz, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williams looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams is stalling in the full guard. Williams wants to pass the guard but Diaz is keeping the position. Williams not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Williams postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Diaz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Williams, into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Williams is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Diaz has had enough of the clinch but Williams keeps him there for the moment. Diaz is trying to push Williams away but Williams has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Williams drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Diaz keeps control of Williams as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Diaz lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Diaz tries to circle away but Williams has him pinned against the cage. Diaz misses with a punch to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz breaks the clinch.
Diaz throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
A slapping leg kick lands for Diaz.
Williams tries to clinch but Diaz moves out of range. Williams backing away here, and Diaz unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Williams dives in and scores a takedown into Diaz's guard. Williams trying to stand up but can't free himself from Diaz's guard. Diaz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Williams throws an elbow that misses. Diaz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Williams's guard. Nice move by Diaz! Williams keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Williams looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Williams has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Diaz has passed into side control.
Diaz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Williams keeps working. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Diaz is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ash Williams will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Sloppy strikes from Williams. Those never looked like landing. Williams has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Diaz. Williams feints and as Diaz raises his hands in defense, Williams changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Williams postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Williams content to stall in guard here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Williams has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams stands up and waves to Diaz to follow him. Diaz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Williams manages to avoid it. Williams shoots for a takedown but Diaz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. An inside leg kick lands from Diaz. Williams looks for a takedown but Diaz sprawls well. Williams shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Diaz finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ash Williams. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Diaz misses with a right hand and Williams counters with a nice double leg into guard. Williams makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Williams stopping the sweep attempt from Diaz. Williams controlling from the top position. Ash Williams overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams has gone for a leg lock! Diaz slips out almost immediately though and dives into Williams's guard.
Williams has his foot on Diaz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Diaz works his way back into a safe position though. Williams keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully. Williams looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Diaz passes into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Williams keeps working. Williams tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Williams is squirming around, avoiding Diaz's attempts to control the action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Williams is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Williams wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Williams rolls, trying to escape but Diaz keeps control of the position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A lull in the action here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Rodrigo Diaz will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
A slow jab from Diaz misses its intended target. Diaz connects with a leg kick. Williams looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Diaz lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Ash Williams is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Diaz throws a body punch but Williams moves out of range. Williams staying out of range there. Williams gets the takedown into side control. Williams is trying to move to mount but Diaz reverses beautifully and ends up in Williams's guard. Diaz trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom. Williams pulls Diaz in close to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams wants to control but Diaz passes easily into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Williams isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Diaz stacks Williams on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Diaz! Williams tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Williams is in all sorts of trouble here.
Williams prevents any damage by holding on tight. Diaz trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Williams wants to hold on but Diaz pushes him away. Williams holds on to Diaz around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks. Diaz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Williams is looking to escape.
And that's the end of the fight! Rodrigo Diaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Diaz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
