PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sterling Milner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Couture comes to the cage accompanied by The Chicken Dance. The crowd seem to be enjoying Milner's choice of entrance music: Wanted Dead or Alive. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Couture gets a clinch.
Couture misses with a hook from the clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Couture.
Milner is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Couture misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Couture keeps control of Milner as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Milner breaks from the clinch.
Milner lands a two punch combo.

It looks like Randy Couture has been cut.
Milner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Couture wants to clinch.
Couture avoids a punch combination nicely.
Couture shoots in and drives through. Milner sprawls well.
Couture tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Milner paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A looping hook to the body misses from Couture. Milner does a little dance to reset his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Couture tries to throw a body punch but Milner avoids it by throwing Couture back against the cage.
Couture is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Milner pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Couture manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Couture misses with a hook to the ribs.

Milner manages to break the clinch.
Couture misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Milner throws a nice looking combination but Couture bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Couture has taken the fight to the clinch.
Couture is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Couture for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Milner is pressed up against the cage. Couture has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Milner down to the mat. Milner avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Randy Couture. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Milner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Couture moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Milner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Couture cracks Milner with a good jab.
Milner throws a nice looking combination but Couture bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Milner goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
BOOM! Couture lands a beautiful left hook that drops Milner. Milner tries to recover but Couture is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Milner lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
