Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Rob Ford (ranked 4283 p4p, 109 weight class) and Weimin Liaw (ranked 2697 p4p, 74 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rob Ford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Weimin Liaw!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Ford. Beautiful body shot.
Liaw circles away from the clinch attempt
and Liaw counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Ford throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ford ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ford tries to clinch up but Liaw circles away and keeps his distance.
Liaw throws a looping overhand right but Ford ducks down to avoid it.
Liaw defending well as Ford loads up on a big left hand.
Ford misses with a looping right.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Liaw ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ford moves away.

Ford drives through and clinches with Liaw against the ropes.

Ford closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Ford throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Liaw breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Liaw avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Liaw looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Ford throws a combination that misses
and Ford takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ford throws a lazy uppercut
and Liaw counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Ford lands an overhand right.
Liaw moves out of range of the strikes.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Liaw! But no joy.

Liaw scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ford keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Liaw drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Ford onto his butt! Ford pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue.

Oh Ford is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ford seems to have got his legs back now.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ford. Liaw does a little dance to reset his feet.
Liaw stuns Ford with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Ford clinches up with Liaw and pushes him back against the ropes.

Liaw blocks a punch to the side of the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Liaw stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

It looks like Weimin Liaw has been cut.

Having scored a knockdown, Weimin Liaw should take round 1, putting pressure on his opponene back strong in round 2.

Ford rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Liaw moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Liaw lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Rob Ford seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

With the fighters up against the ropes, Ford throws an elbow but misses.
Liaw is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Ford drops his hands momentarily and Liaw takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
